CHICAGO: To kick off the new year, TimeZoneOne President & CEO Daniel Thomas has been appointed to two new leadership roles in the community – president of the Australian New Zealand American Chamber of Commerce (ANZACC) Midwest Board of Directors and member of the Chicago Police Foundation Board.
ANZACC is a nonprofit organization devoted to serving corporations, organizations and individuals interested in enhancing their relations and understanding between Australia, New Zealand and the United States. As a native New Zealander, Thomas’ vision for the organization is to continue to raise the profile of Aussie and Kiwi businesses in the Midwest, create new networking opportunities for expats to learn and collaborate, and lead the chamber with a clear business vision and goals.
As he welcomed the newly elected members to the board, Thomas stated: “Like you, I am joining at an exciting time as the profile of Australia and New Zealand continues to grow in the Midwest. Whether it’s Air New Zealand or Qantas’ new flights into Chicago, the recent Australian Prime Minister’s visit to the World Economic Forum or just new business and trade opportunities between our nations. All are great opportunities and arguably we have more momentum than ever before.”
Thomas has served on the ANZACC Midwest board of directors for two years and as president is kicking off his term with a listening tour among board members, expats and businesses.
Additionally, Thomas is a new member of the Chicago Police Foundation Board of Directors. The Chicago Police Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization established through the interest and primary support of the Chicago business community. The foundation’s mission is to provide supplemental resources to support Chicago Police Department (CPD) initiatives and priority programs focused on the areas of safety equipment, advanced training, enhanced technology, and officer wellness.
