What a Huge Week That Was!
We hosted a major tourism conference for the state of Illinois, were panelists at a digital marketing seminar, launched a refreshed TimeZoneOne brand and website, kicked off an exciting new creative project, and started preparing for New Zealand’s biggest tourism trade show, TRENZ. Then to cap it all off, we hosted our first partner event of the year. No wonder Friday drinks were well attended!
Six Takes on Marketing
We’re so grateful to our six speakers for the time and thought they put into their presentations. We invited them to share some of their top marketing tips, and each speaker gave us a very different take on marketing in 2018.
Jamie Hurschler from Panorama shared his secret sauce for getting the most from your relationships with your creative partners. Rowan Worner from ChristchurchNZ challenged us to take ownership of our destination. Emily Box from the Cancer Society NZ advised us to develop solid relationships for cut through in a competitive market.
After a short break to refresh our glasses, Nicolette Le Cren from Perception advised us never to stop being curious and observing hungrily. Ciaran Fox from All Right? advocated for making real people your heroes to power social change. And Brandon Evans from Kiwicare invited us to remember that our customers’ journey with us doesn’t stop after point of sale. There was something for everyone and the talks prompted fascinating questions and conversations.
What Marketing Topics Would You Like to Learn More About?
TimeZoneOne started to host networking talks in 2015 to fill a vacuum for peer led marketing events in post-quake Christchurch. They started as an experiment. We were unsure if there was an appetite for a series of marketing talks, but after our second Southern Lights event attracted over 100 marketers, we realised that we could serve as a catalyst for marketers to gather and learn from each other. Our speakers give their time generously, and we see so much value from these events in the learning they give and the opportunity to speak with our marketing peers.
We’re delighted so many of you find value in the talks too. Thank you for taking time to give us your generous feedback. We try to make this series educational and entertaining, so we’re always keen to hear suggestions on marketing topics you’d like to know more about. If you have a request, please email [email protected]
On the topic of marketing topics, we’re planning our June marketing talk. The theme will be Export marketing, and we’ll be covering export marketing topics from protecting intellectual property to offshore media outreach. We already have one great speaker pencilled in for June and more in mind, and we’ll be announcing a date soon.
If you’ve an export marketing story to share or a topic you’d like us to cover please email Kintilla. And if you’d like us to send you a reminder when our next marketing talk goes live, then sign up for our e-newsletter below, or email Kintilla and she’ll add you to the list.
If you sell to offshore markets, whether products, services or experiences, there are a few things you need to take seriously. Like ideas and data. At this event, you'll learn some of the top ways for protecting them.
