I can help you promote your destination to travel agencies and tour companies, forge travel trade partnerships and create effective trade communication strategies and trade marketing campaigns.

My team can also assist you with your travel trade engagement initiatives: trade missions, FAMs, travel shows, and travel agent training.

I also manage our relationship with our trade marketing partners. We have strategic travel trade and PR partners in Japan, Germany, the UK, China, and Mexico. The destination marketing organizations we work with tap into this network of affiliations to extend their global reach, and tailor their campaigns to local markets.

I have over 30 years of hotel and trade marketing experience, and I’ve traveled the world over (and over!). My event management experience includes more global travel tradeshows and consumer tourism shows than I can remember, the Illinois Governor’s Conference on Travel & Tourism, and the annual conference for the World Federation of Great Towers, and an in-depth understanding of Global Tourism consumer shows.

Although I love telling compelling stories about the destinations I represent, I’m not great at talking about my own strengths, so I asked Daniel to write a few words about me. This is what he said.

“Have you ever heard of a horse whisperer? Mary is a partnership whisperer. Watching her at work with our partners is like watching the Sistine Chapel being painted. She is a true master of her craft, famous for being inducted into the Illinois Office of Tourism’s Hall of Fame Leadership Awards in 2012.

“She’s also a heck of a fun team member, who loves a good dress up party, and may or may not have won “best dressed” at Virgin Atlantic’s annual party when she went as The Queen of Hearts.”

Total Solar Eclipse

On August 21, 2017, nearly 200,000 people traveled to Southern Illinois to experience total darkness in the middle of the day. It was the first solar eclipse in nearly 40 years, and NASA identified the Carbondale area and the village of Makanda as the best place to see it!
