Hey, I’m Levi, Strategist for the US team. My goal is to guide our partners' creative advertising and content in a direction that facilitates a genuine connection with their audiences.

As TimeZoneOne's strategist, my work centers around helping brands succinctly define the value they provide to consumers, and then determining the best way to convey that value to their target audiences. The ‘voice of the consumer’ in the room, I'm passionate about strengthening the human/brand connections across every touchpoint on the customer journey.

I'll help shape broader marketing communications and brand strategies, identify new opportunities, and enhance our partners’ competitive edge in the market. It’s all about knowing who you’re talking to, what they want, and why they want it.

So that’s what I do for TimeZoneOne today. But how did I end up here in Chicago? After all, I was born over 13,000 kilometres away…

In 2019, fresh out of Auckland University, I jumped on a flight to leave a golden Kiwi summer for sub-zero temperatures in Chicago. I’d landed an incredible opportunity: an internship at a “global agency with an un-agency approach” — pretty intriguing to say the least. US sim card and bank account acquired, I was set to enjoy some of the most memorable twelve months of my life. And I certainly did.

In Chicago I was introduced to the Enjoy Illinois brand and worked on creative copy for Navy Pier and other clients like Massel and the Chicago Wolves. Throughout the year I explored the Windy City and trekked further afield to Knoxville, Fort Lauderdale, New York, San Francisco and Santa Cruz. It was a thoroughly enjoyable flurry of new experiences and work opportunities (yes that’s me inside the Abraham Lincoln mascot suit, yes it was hot).

Returning to New Zealand at the end of my visa in early 2020, the plan had been to head back for a second helping—but SARS-CoV-2 had other plans. So for three years I worked in Auckland across both US and NZ TZO clients (a couple new highlights include Kiwicare and Qualmark).

But finally I made it back! Working as part of the SCC family in Chicago has been a great experience and I look forward to exciting new opportunities in the coming years.
