Garden Heroes

A Growing Relationship

Karl started working with Kiwicare back in 2011 on packaging, point-of-sale, and trade communications. The relationship has grown and grown from there. We’ve partnered on the design and development of their website, and today we work together on digital marketing.

Tending The Digital Garden

Kiwicare is still pretty new to the digital game, but they’ve made great leaps in a short time.

Turns out they really get digital marketing. And they have a keen interest in understanding and serving their customers at every step of their digital journey.

To gain that understanding, they look to interact with their customers, across all platforms, to understand and address their particular home and garden needs. Their website reflects this, with a problem solver positioned front and centre, and personalised advice based on the visitor’s location and common home and garden challenges.

Another great example of their hands-on interaction is their Facebook community, which together we grew from 0 to nearly 36,000 followers in only 13 months.

It’s an engaged community, reacting to posts, commenting, asking questions, and reading content—and that engagement goes both ways. They ask us questions about problems they’re having, and we give them the answers. We ask them what they want to know, and they tell us. You’ll often see Kiwicare staff in there responding to comments and questions, offering the kind of advice and service you won’t often see on a page like this.

That engagement was apparent on the page’s first birthday, when we asked the audience what they’d learned from the page. 330 people answered, all with something they wouldn’t have known if the page hadn’t taught them.

This kind of keen interest is reflected in Kiwicare’s website data. They’ve seen a 374% growth in sessions, driven by Facebook. The audience includes a good number of younger new home owners and renters, who could be fans—and customers—for a long time.

Kiwicare’s journey over the years has been phenomenal. They’ve really nailed their “why”, and they’re reaping the benefits in their exceptional growth and strong relationships with their customers and retailers. We couldn’t be happier than to be a part of that continuing journey.
